In order to obtain any of the following awards (Aquatic Rescue/ First Aid and Emergency Care/ Powercraft), an individual needs to be a financial member of the lifesaving club and meet the pre-requisites:

Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC).

Provides participants with basic patrolling and surf awareness knowledge, in order to be able to participate in lifesaving patrol activities.
Minimum 13 years old (within 60 days of final assessment), able to swim 200m in 5 mins

Bronze Medallion (BM). 

Provides participants with basic patrolling and surf awareness knowledge, in order to be abe to participate in basic lifesaving patrolling operations.
Minimum 15 years old (within 60 days of final assessment), able to swim 400m in 9 mins

Inflatable Rescue Boat Crew (IRBC).

Provides participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively crew an IRB in rescue operations
Minimum 15 years old on the day of final assessment, current bronze medallion.

Inflatable Rescue Boat Driver (IRBD).

Provides participants with the sjilss and knowledge to effectively drive an IRB in rescue operations
Minimum 17 years old on the day of the assessment, current bronze medallion, current victorian marine license and current IRBC

Radio Operator Certificate (ROC)

Provides participants with the skills and knowledge to perform basic communication practices
Minimum 13 years old on the day of final assessment

Silver Medallion Beach Management (SMBM).

Provides participants with the skills, knowledge and experience to manage a beach in emergency and non-emergency situations. Silver Medallion Beach Management is recommended for Patrol Captains and is required for all fullstrength patrols.
Minimum 17 years old on the day of the final assessment, current bronze medallion, plus one of ROC, ART ar FA

Silver Medallion Aquatic Rescue (SMAR).

Provides participants with the advanced skills and knowledge to effectively coordinate search and rescue operations
Minimum 17 years old on the day of final assessment, current bronze medallion

Gold Medallion (GM).

Provides participants with advanced skills and knowledge to manage emergencies in autonomous situations.
Minimum 17 years old on the day of the final assessment, current BM, current SMBM, current FA and current ART.

Resuscitation (CPR) – HLTAID009.

Provides participants with the skils and knowledge to perform CPR during an emergency incident.
Minimum 12 years old on the day of the assessment

Basic Emergency Life Support (BELS) – HLTAID009 & HLTAID010.

Provides participants with the skills and knowledge to deliver basic emergency life support care and deal with injuries during an emergency incident.
Minimum 12 years old on the day of the final assessment

First Aid (FA) – HLTAID011, HLTAID010 & HLTAID009.

Provides participants with the skills and knowledge to manage an emergency first aid situation until professional support arrives.
Minimum 14 years old on the day of the final assessment

Advanced Resuscitation Techniques (ART) – HLTAID015 & HLTAID009.

Provides participants with the skills and knowledge to use oxygen resuscitation, bag value mask and suction equipment in an emergency.
Minimum 15 years old on the day of the final assessment, current HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid

Side-By-Side Vehicle Operator Certificate (SSV).

Provides participants with the skills and knowledge to safety and effectively operate SSV for lifesaving purposes.
Minimum 18 years old on the day of the final assessment, current drivers license.
